April Glossybox

What I Got:
Monu Hand & Nail Cream - love this!
Philip B Styling Gel - Not a fan
Caudalie S.O.S Thirst-Quenching Serum - I like.
Figs & Rouge Lip Balm - Smells amazing!
Inika Cosmetics Organic Lip Liner - really pretty colour, love!

This months box wasn't too bad really, A couple of full size products made a nice change to the teeny samples we normally get. I like that there a few moisturisers in there because I am always in need of them. The Figs & Rouge lip balm actually smells delicious so I can't wait to coat my lips in it. I've never owned a lip pencil before so I am excited to try the Inika one out especially as its a super pretty plumb shade. I feel like the styling gel is something that I wont get on with so before even properly trying I've kind of discarded it, I know its a bad thing to do and it probably a really great product but not something I would go for.
Despite this months box being quite good I have decided to un-subscribe from the Glossybox scheme. After being quite disappointed with a few of the boxes I decided that it was probably best to just cancel it and spend the £12.95 on products I actually like and know I will get proper use out of.
Goodbye Glossybox!

March 'Harrods' Glossybox

I have been a real bad blogger recently and for that I am very sorry! College work has completely taken over my life for the last two weeks but yesterday I handed my assignments in and now I am off for two weeks so I aim to be back, blogging in full force!
I know I'm not alone when I say, I was slightly disappointed in the Harrods glossybox. I was expecting a bit more then piddly samples and yet another Clarins product, especially when its from Harrods possibly the richest store ever surely they could afford to put at least one full size in the box! I was a lucky one who got the Burberry lipstick but it was quickly off loaded to my mum as its really not that great colour wise and consistency wise. I think the only product from the box I will use is the Molton Brown soap because it smells quite nice. The YSL and Clarins products are both aimed at firming wrinkles and skin which as a nearly 19 year old its not something I've had to worry about yet, two more products shifted to my mums collection.
I am going to give glossybox one more chance with the April box, if it fails to succeed with a good box I will be un-subscribing and getting on the market to join a new box. If anyone is subscribed to a box that they are loving at the moment then please please let me know so I can have a look at your posts about them!
Have a lovely day beauties!

January Glossybox Review!

So, In January's box I received;  Clarins extra firming day cream & extra firming night cream, Murad hybrids skin perfecting primer, FAB Gentle body wash and Eyeko skinny eyeliner. Like every month of course I am going to let you know what I thought about these products.
First up we have the Murad hybrids skin perfecting primer. I'm not sure if you can see properly from the picture, where I had blended it in, but this really is not my colour. It looks so orange on my skin tone that I did not even try it on my face. It claims to give a dewy finish and as someone who can suffer from oily skin I really don't need any help giving my skin a shine. I wasn't a fan of this product.
Lets start with the positives, these two products smell like sun cream and weirdly I love the smell of sun cream so I was more than happy to put this on my skin and smell it for ages. They feel a little greasy at first but once the cream has sunk in, which it does really fast, your skin feel so soft and moisturised. One thing that put me off a little was there wasn't any "This is what our product aims to do" so its like why am I using this if I don't know what its aims are, how am I meant to know if its working?
When I was having a nose at other people's glossybox reviews I noticed that a lot of them were getting strange coloured eyeliners so I was very happy to receive the shade Midnight Blue which is a seriously deep blue that could pass for black. Eyeko eyeliners are so creamy and apply with such ease that even me, who isn't a fan of eyeliners, was happy to apply this without colouring my eye in! Bonus.

This product confused me, don't judge I'm not stupid. However on the bottle it says 'body moisturizer' but on the card glossybox send through it says 'body wash' so I was like am I meant to use this in the shower or just use it on its own? In the end I assumed the bottle must be right and used it as a moisturiser. As a moisturiser it was a non greasy formula which smells really nice and soaks in super quick, always a positive! Getting a sample size of the product means that it can easily be popped in your bag for on the go application throughout those winter months.

So, I am now awaiting February's box to see what glossybox have to offer! What did you think of your box last month?

January Glossybox!

Sorry that this post is going up a little late, I have spent most of my afternoon putting together a flat packed drawer unit from Ikea all by myself. I am oddly proud that I succeeded to get it together and up the stairs without breaking something or injuring myself. It's made up part of my new make up storage area, if anyone would like to see the end result then let me know and I would be more than happy to show you (once my bookcase has been moved & things have been dismantled to suit my new layout)

Anyway, on with the Glossybox.. First off I would like to thank the postman who decided to throw my glossybox over the back wall because I wasn't in, luckily nothing was broken but even so, that is not cool! I wasn't sure if I would even get this months box seen as it is nearly February and It still hadn't arrived but it did and I was quite happy with it.
This months box was bright pink, my favourite type of pink, which had something to do with it being valentines day related. It was a nice surprise to see a bright 'special edition' box this month instead of the normal pale pink.
A quick overview of what is inside my glossybox this month.. Clarins extra firming day cream & extra firming night cream, Murad hybrids skin perfecting primer, FAB Gentle body wash and Eyeko skinny eyeliner. I am most looking forward to trying out the eyeliner, body wash and the night cream. I will do a review post in a couple of weeks to let you know my thoughts on the products and see if there is anything that surprises me.

December Glossybox Review

After last months box I was debating whether or not to cancel my subscription because I was so disappointed but it seems like glossybox held back until this months box and crammed it full of their best products. I loved this months box!
1) Blink + Go HD Mascara. 2) Deborah Lippmann nail polish. 3) Cargo Cosmetics lip gloss. 4) Mememe Seventh Heaven Primer. 5) Deborah Lippmann Stripped to go. 6) Rituals Foaming Shower Gel.

1) I am a huge fan of this mascara. It gives amazing definition to the lashes without clumping them together. It is waterproof but it comes off quite easily which is great for me because I have super sensitive eyes, excess scrubbing = intense pain! A full size mascara was in the box, if you were to buy it it would cost £14.99, a bit pricey for a mascara but it is really good quality, i'd say its worth it.
2) I am going to be honest and say that I haven't actually tried this polish out but I have seen so many positive reviews on it and pictures of what the varnish looks like on and it looks so gorgeous! I love a bit of glitter but I find that a heavy glitter polish takes forever to get off! I will be trying this out however because the colour looks so worth the effort of taking it off. Full size polish would set you back around £14 I think.
3) I received the cargo gloss in the shade 'Serengeti' which is a lovely shimmery peach colour. I used this on its own for a bit of shimmer or onto of a coral lipstick from rimmel. It is really nice, gives a subtle colour pay off and it isn't sticky! A full size of this gloss will cost £10 which isn't too bank busting as you'd pay around £13 for a MAC gloss.
4) The MeMeMe seventh heaven primer is my new favourite primer! I love this. It's moisturising, smells beautiful and fruity and really keeps your make up on! This product is great for when you wake up with dry skin you just need one product to moisturise your face, wake you up with the lovely smell and keep your make up firmly in place. I will be investing the £15 it costs for the full size when next pay day rolls round!
5) The stripped to go mitts are so useful! The single mitt in the packet cleared 10 nails worth of nail varnish, which included a little glitter, perfectly with nothing left on the nails. Having it on your fingers means it so much easier to hold and scrub. Full size is around £16 I believe.
6) When I first smelt the Rituals shower gel in 'Indian rose & sweet almond oil' I wasn't too sure I was going to like it. However, when I got round to using it in the shower I loved it! The fact is foaming makes it feel moisturising. Personally I feel like it washes and stays better on the body than a gel that normally just runs straight off. For only £6.50 I would buy this again and again.

What did you think of this months box?

November Glossybox Review!

First off I have to say that I wasn't overly impressed with this months box, recently I'm finding that Glossybox is a bit hit and miss with products but when they are good, they are real good! This months box consists of..
1) Arbonne Ultra Hydrating Hand crème. 2) Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer. 3) Illamasqua Freak Eau De Parfum. 4) Dead Sea Spa Magik Delicate Boosting Mask. 5) Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps.
1) The "Ultra Hydrating" Hand Crème really is ultra hydrating! Unlike some moisturisers if you put them on a cut then it stings them, this one just soothes them and doesn't hurt them at all. This may just be me but I think like this product actually smells quite fruity. If anyone else had this in their box, what did you think it smelt like? Full Size: £19.00
2) I have never used and Elasticizer before but this one was really nice. You are meant to apply it around 10 minutes before you shampoo your hair so I applied it when I was shaving my legs and washing my body. Once I had finished my shower and allowed my hair to dry naturally there was some noticeable bounce and umphh! to my hair which is what my hair needs these days. Really like this one but I do not like the full size price! Full Size: £52.10 (!)
3) I have not been a huge fan of the perfume samples that Glossybox keep sending. I'm still on the fence with this one. When I first smelt 'Freak' it actually smelt quite nice, definitely a scent I would wear, but after a while it became a little over powering and made my head hurt a little. One thing I did like was this sample was able to be sprayed on unlike the others. Full Size: £59.00
4) The Delicate Boosting Mask is definitely something I would consider re purchasing. I have used this twice and both times my face has felt noticeably different. My skin gets super dry but this did not dry my face out or anything which I think may be down to its creamy formula, it did nothing but good! A full size bottle comes in at only £8.80 which I think is pretty reasonable for something like this.
5) My favourite item of them all! I have been wanting to try nail wraps for the longest time and to get them in the glossybox was a great chance to try them out. I got the black and white polka dot ones, they lasted me about 2 weeks because I suck and putting them on and they started to peel off after a while. I really want to go out and buy some more styles soon! Full Size: £6.65 per pack.

Favourite Pair Of Shoes

These are my all time favourite 'going out' shoes, If I could wear these every day without getting serious pain in my feet then I would. The platform on them and the fact they are tight-ish around the ankle means they are super easy to walk in!

November Glossybox!

The theme for this months box was "5 products to try before you buy (whether for yourself of others - Part 1" On first impressions, this isn't a great box. I mean, I could be wrong because I haven't tried out any of the products yet but just looking at them the only thing that really appeals is the nail wraps. However, I could be proved wrong.
This months box contained a mix of products which is nice but I am slightly bored of these constant perfume samples! I haven't really liked any of them so it would be nice for them to be swapped out for a nail varnish or some make up items in the future.
This month I got:
- Arbonne Ultra Hydrating Hand crème - £19.00 for a full size
- Dead Sea Spa Magik Delicate Boosting Mask - £8.80 for a full size
- Illamasqua Freak Eau De Parfum - £59.00 for a full size
- Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps - £6.65 for a pack
- Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, pre shampoo treatment - £52.10(!!) for a full size
I will put up a review in a couple of weeks when I have had the chance to try them all out properly!

October Glossybox Reviews

I really enjoyed trying out last months products from Glossybox!
So far I have not loved the perfume samples sent through in any of the glossyboxes. This month there were three samples, I think all of the Robert Piguet samples smell very musky and floral which isn't really one of my favourite types of scent. However if I had to choose one I would say 'Calypso' was the better of the three scents.

I was very happy to see a Stila product in last months box because I've heard tonnes of positive reviews about the brand. I received a smudge stick in Moray which is a really pretty darkish green colour with golden sparkle in it. It is soo pigmented and even the squiggle on my hand took a few scrubs to get it completely off which bodes well for it not to smudge on your eyes. Love this!
I loved the three dermalogica age smart products. Both the thermafoliant and the power recover masque made my skin feel so freaking soft! I loved using them. However the smell of the masque made my head feel a little funny when I was sat with it on. The little lip balm is my new favourite thing, to me it smells a bit like strawberries and made my lips so soft after just one use! Love Love Love it!
Prettiest colour ever. In the bottle the varnish looks like a really cute baby pink colour but on my nails it seemed to go a salmon pink instead. It was still a really lovely colour and lasted a seriously long time without chipping. I think I may have to invest in a couple more Leighton Denny nail varnish. Lovely.

Looking forward to receiving and trying out the exciting goodies in this months box

September GlossyBox intro and products!

I originally heard about this concept from watching Ingrid, or Miss Glamourazzi on YouTube when she did videos on an american company called BirchBox, I thought it was a clever idea but it was US only so no chance I could join. A few weeks ago I came  across a blog post on a company called GlossyBox which was exactly the same as BirchBox but one I could join.

GlossyBox is a monthly subscription service, a bit like a magazine subscription, and every month they send you a beautifully packaged box with 5 product samples including make up, skincare, haircare & nail products. This is the first month i've signed up for, it costs £12.95 a month and I personally think its totally worth it!

How cute is the box! I might use theses to package my giveaways otherwise i am going to be overrun with these boxes (yes, i have a couple coming up soon, if you are interested)

Inside the box they put a card with information on this months concept, which was 'Future Classics', on the other side of the card there is a little bit of information on each product and a discount code for each of the products website, mostly £5 off if you spend £20.

This Months Products:
In the bag: Rahua, shampoo & conditioner
In the tube: Green people, Day solution
In the pot: Moa, The green balm
HD Brows, Eye & brow pallet
Mary Greenwell, Plum eau de parfum

I am going to be doing monthly GlossyBox posts. I will do a post on what I got in the months box and then when I've used the products I will do another post reviewing them, i think.
Let me know if you are subscribed to GlossyBox or if you have any questions!
