May Favourites!

Well I haven't done one of these posts for absolutely ages!
This month I have been loving some brand new products and rediscovering some oldies.

My lips have been getting some special attention this month due to them being so dry so I have rediscovered the classic Revlon lip butter in 'Cupcake' it is delicious in colour and name. It applies so smooth and stays like a dream. Another lip butter has crept into my collection in the form of the new Nivea Raspberry Rose. I love this! It is my new favourite and essential everyday product. My lips feel nourished and so soft after just one application.

I have super sensitive skin, especially around my eyes, so removing make up with wipes is torture even if they are for sensitive skin so I'd like to take this opportunity to say Thank You Huggies! Huggies pure baby wipes are the only wipe I have found that will remove even waterproof mascara without stinging my eyes unbearably, they are so soft and gentle its like using pure water. Love.

I got the MonuSpa hand and nail moisturiser in a glossybox way back when ItsCharr first started and sort of neglected it in a drawer somewhere. Since rediscovering it a few weeks ago my hands have never felt softer. It will not being going back into a drawer anytime soon!

I've written a whole post about how much I love Barry M's Lash Vegas so read all about that right here!

Barry M Gelly polishes are their best invention ever. I love the thicker consistency and easier application the gelly polishes have. I pretty much want to own the whole collection. Did anyone else notice that the Barry M counters were completely stripped of nail polishes a week or so ago?

May Favourites!

It's slightly disappointing that it is now June yet as I write this post it is pouring with rain outside, where has the sunshine gone!? A random favourites this month which doesn't contain a lot of beauty because I hadn't really invested in any new products last month. The nail favourites this month are Avon's nail strengthener which helps fix my split and damaged nails in a matter of days and essie's 'Tart Deco' which is a beautiful thick coral polish which is so nice, I featured it in  this post. A rediscovery for me was MAC's 'Crème Cup' lipstick, somehow I managed to forget what a nice shade and consistency this lipstick has I definitely made the most of wearing it this month. I have done a full review of the Bourjois 123 foundation which I have absolutely loved this month, interested? see it here. Some of you may be like "why on earth is this girl featuring period pain ibuprofen on her favourites post?" well, ladies, you are looking at your new best friend when it comes to those horrible period pains, they start working around 15-20 minutes after you take them and keep you pain free for a good 6 hours. I swear by these as I am one of those girls who gets serious pains and I find it so hard to get comfy and pain free with normal ibuprofen but these take away the pain quickly and leave you feeling almost normal. A-May-Zing. Last up is sudocrem which has done some serious good to my skin when I use it twice a week as a face mask, bye bye redness and big spots! Yankee Candle's 'soft blanket' scent is the nicest thing I have ever smelt, personally I think it smells better than the other 'clean' scents. Plus, how adorable is the picture on it?
Sorry I have been a little lacking on the blogging front recently, I am working hard to finish my final assignments from college so I can get signed off and finished for summer! I will be back to my normal blogging soon I hope!

April Favourites!

Hollister 'Solana Beach' Hand lotion & Body Spray
These smell like summer has been squished into a bottle! They scent isn't as over powering as other hollister scents, this one is nice a fruity!
Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream
I have been using the happy time body moisturiser for years so when I saw this I had to have it! The is smells like lots of citrus fruits, so nice, plus the scent lingers for a long time after its been used in the shower.
Topshop Lipstick in 'Rio Rio'
I've been on the market for a proper red lipstick for a while now and when I spotted this one from topshop it was perfect! I apply it using sigma's E65 small angled brush, not what the brush is used for but it works!
Revlon Lipbutter in 'Cupcake'
I got sucked into the lipbutter hype but restricted myself to two shades. Cupcake is my favourite out of the two as its a nice soft pink shade that really moisturises the lips. I like that they have a sweet scent to them too!
MAC 'Pinch o' Peach' Blush
Full review right here!
My fake Lita's from boohoo.com
I have been wearing these at any opportunity because they are so comfy, easy to walk in and go with anything. I love them!

March Favourites!

It's April so you know what that means! That's right, it's my birthday in SEVEN days and I'm excited! Also, its April so it's time for my favourite picks of March. I'm pretty impressed that I'm getting this post up on the 2nd of April as opposed to the usual half way through the month. Enough chat, lets get to it.
I figured I would start with something that the blogging world has been going on about for months, the urban decay naked2 pallet. I vowed not to buy this pallet but when Angie from sexy at midnight was holding a giveaway that featured the pallet I couldn't resist entering, and I won! Ever since I received the pallet I have loved it and used it so much. I'm not going to bore you with a review because I'm sure you all either own it or have heard more then enough about it but lets just say its a neutrals paradise!
Onto the other favourites! Soap & Glory 'A Great Kisser' Lipbalm, Jack Wills 'Turquoise' nail varnish, Viva Glam Nicki lipstick, NYX eyeshadow base, NYX 'Peach' blush.
Another giveaway gift from Angie was the Soap & Glory lipbalm. It smells and tastes delicious, it's pink, it's non sticky and super moisturising. I love it and will be buying this again when it inevitably runs out through over use.
The Jack Wills nail varnish has quickly become my new favourite shade. It is identical to my all time favourite Barry M shade which is no longer available so to be able to replace it makes me happy. The consistency is fairly thick and it lasts a good 5 days on the nails before chipping, bonus!
Viva Glam Nicki has been my go to lip colour recently cause lets be fair the sunshine and bright pink has worked really well together. I did a full review on that here so you can check that out if you are interested!
The nyx eyeshadow base has become my new favourite, its slightly pearly which really gives the eyeshadow colour a pop and makes it stand out big time. Love it! Another Nyx favourite is the blush in 'Peach' when I saw it in the pan I was like 'oh my gosh that's bright and not peachy' but when applied to the cheeks it transforms into a very buildable soft peach!

We are only 2 days into April but I have already discovered a couple of things that could be making their way into this months favourite post so watch out for those!

February Favourites!

I'm back! Before I get into my favourites I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of you who left such lovely comments on my last post. It is so nice to know that there are such nice people out there who are essentially still strangers who care enough to say such nice things which have honestly really helped me stay positive. I'm doing okay now and I think my mum is getting there too, I'm still talking to my dad like normal which is also nice. THANK YOU!!

1. Neutrogena deep clean scrub. 2. EOS lipbalm. 3. Topshop 'show off' lipstick, 4. 17 Miracle Matte foundation. 5. Z- Pallet.
1. I have recently rediscovered neutrogena face scrub which I am super glad I did. My skin has been pretty dry recently and haven't really thought of using an exfoliant to actually clear the dead skin cells until I spotted this in my junk drawer in my bathroom. I use this every other time I shower, it is a soft exfoliant which leaves your skin feeling cool and clean once it has been washed off. I have found that my skin looks a little brighter after use too which has been nice to see.
2. Since getting my braces lipbalms have been my best friends, I apply my mint chocolate one at night and reach for my EOS one first thing in the morning. The scent is my favourite things about it because it is so sweet and fruity which wakes me up and leaves me feeling summery all day as well as keeping my lips moisturised and therefore less likely to get ripped by my brace. I wish EOS was available here.
3. The topshop 'show off' lipstick was one of my first purchases from the topshop make up range and was also my first 'less safe' lipstick colour as it is a pretty hot pink. Weirdly I think it smells like jelly beans, which I love. The colour is so pigmented and I find that it lasts for such a long time that you hardly need to reapply. I wear this lippie quite a lot since finding it in my make up drawer this month.
4. I have done a full on rave about this foundation right here which you can read if you are curious about the product. To sum it up this foundation is so light to apply and feels like its barely on the skin yet gives medium to heavy coverage, as someone with acne I am impressed with how well it hides things. It's oil free, doesn't dry out the skin and costs £6. What more could you want!?
5. The Z pallet has been a fun little project for me to do, it took me around 2 days to complete. I de potted 5 out of my six MUA pallets into the Z pallet. I am going to do a full post on de-potting and the Z pallet soon so I shan't say too much here! Look out for that.

That was my February Favourites! I hope you enjoyed and perhaps found something you liked.

January Favourites!

This is the first favourites post of 2012, this will be the first year that I will do all 12 favourites post too! This month's favourites are a mixed range of products, unlike previous ones which just consisted of beauty. As I am on a spending ban I haven't really found any new favourites in the beauty world.
1. Mint choc chip lip balm, 2. Juicy Couture perfume, 3. Garnier Fructis Flexihold hairspray, 4. Clinique liquid facial soap, 5. Barry M 'Toffee' Lipgloss

1. In a previous favourites post I declared my love for mint chocolate chip chewing gum however since getting braces I can no longer have chewing gum. I needed a new lip balm because mine had gone gross, when I came across a Mint Chocolate chip one in paperchase of all places I just had to have it to fill the void left from my chewing gum being taken away from me. Plus its really moisturising and tastes lovely!
2. The juicy couture perfume was a gift from my boyfriends parents for Christmas. It has a musky winter scent to it which smells soo nice! I associate it with winter and have been wearing it every single day since I got it and will probably still being wearing it through spring. It's a really lovely smell and just one spray lasts nearly all day.Bonus.
3. Hairspray is something I haven't used a great deal of before but recently I have been styling my hair in different ways that require hairspray to keep it fixed. The flexihold hairspray is great because its really light, smells amazing and brushes out leaving no oily or greasy residue behind. I think its only about £3 which is pretty good for a can that size.
4. I keep the clinique liquid facial soap in my shower and that tends to be the only time I use it. I received this product as part of a 'gift with purchase' and I really like it. I lathers up really nicely and you only need a pea sized amount to wash your face with. My face actually feels so clean after I use it which is great. One thing I don't like is the smell, it is not great smelling.
5. I am a big fan of the Barry M brand mostly for their nail varnish however I recently branched out into trying their lipglosses. The first one I chose was the 'toffee' shade, it is a beautiful nude toffee colour, it smells like toffee, with the smallest of shimmer in it. It applies really well and it doesn't stick, no one likes a sticky lipgloss! In the tube it looks really shimmery but when it is actually applied you can hardly tell it has shimmer in it but it still looks lovely. I have heard a couple of people compare these to MAC's dazzleglass lipglosses which I can see the resemblance, plus Barry M is a whole lot cheaper than a MAC gloss. I need more Barry M lipglosses in my collection.

December Favourites!

So that's it, Christmas is now over and we are 2 days into 2012. I'm back at college tomorrow, it feels like I haven't had any time off but hey ho, time to get my brain working again! Because It is now January, it is time for my December favourites, and here they are..
1) E45 Cream, 2) Maybelline lip stain, 3) NYC HD mascara, 4) MAC crème cup lipstick, 5) MAC boy bait gloss, 6) Sigma E30

1) Winter has been particularly harsh to my skin this year but E45 cream has kept me happy. At times my skin has been so dry it has actually hurt to move my face. Before bed I coat my face in this and when I wake up in the morning its lovely and moisturised, Plus its only £3!
2) I have only recently discovered that Maybelline have a small range of lipstains. Last month there was a 3 for 2 deal on Maybelline cosmetics in boots so I took full advantage and purchased all four shades. My favourite so far is the shade 'Wink of Pink' which is a light pink. It love lipstains purely for their staying power! I tend to only have to re apply once when I wear them. They cost £5.99 but right now boots have a buy one get on half price on all maybelline cosmetics!
3) I love NYC mascaras! there, I said it. The HD mascara is my new favourite from their mascara range. It lengthens the lashes and gives volume in just one coat. Its really easy to take off as well which is a bonus. I never thought much of NYC as a brand but I am starting to really like it. Their mascaras range from £2 to £4 depending on the style.
4)&5) My favourite lip look this month has been MACs 'Crème Cup' lipstick with MACs 'Boy Bait' gloss over the top. They both have a similar pinky colour to them and they look so good together. I wear this whenever I can (aka, not at college) If anyone is wondering about MAC lipstick colours I highly recommend 'Crème Cup'
6) Another sigma brush favourite this month, this time an eye brush. I have been liking the E30 pencil brush for applying shadow in the crease and corner of my eye. The pencil shape makes it super easy and neat to do. Love this brush!

What are your favourites this month, link your posts if you have done them

November Favourites!

I'm actually quite happy to be posting a November Favourites post because that means its December which means Christmas is coming soon and I am soo excited for it! Are you!?
This months favourites are: 1. Clinique anti blemish emergency gel, 2. Sigma F50 Stippling brush, 3. Sally Hansen nail varnish remover, 4. Vivo Baked blush - Peaches & cream, 5. Soap and Glory - Hand Food

1. Clinique anti blemish emergency gel: This has literally helped me so much this month, my skin is breaking out like crazy so I am constantly reaching for this little tube. It banishes redness in a matter of hours and you can see the blemish disappearing within a day or two. So helpful.
2. Sigma F50 stippling brush: I got a sigma brush set when I went to Chicago in October, this is by far my favourite brush. When applying foundation with this is never looks cakey and gives an almost flawless finish, you can really see the difference between applying foundation with a foundation brush and with a stippling brush. If you haven't tried a stippling brush yet you should, ELF cosmetics have a stippling brush for £3!
3. Sally Hansen nail varnish remover: You can see me declare my love it right here!
4. Vivo Baked Blush - Peaches & Cream: I own all four blush shades from Tesco's Vivo line and I love them! They look quite bright and pigmented in the pot but when you apply it you find its a light buildable colour. I am going to do a full review of the blushes soon (potentially next week!) so look out for that.
5. Soap & Glory - Hand Food: I received this as part of the secret santa I participated in last month (full post on the gifts soon!) This was one of my favourite products I got. It sinks straight into my hands and smells absolutely gorgeous, I can't even begin to describe how it smells but it smells so good! Its a must have for this cold weather to keep those hands super soft and moisturised!
6. Costa Mint Hot Chocolate: My best friend actually discovered this first and after having a sip of hers I had to get my own. This is part of Costa's 'Christmas' Menu and honestly you all have to try it, especially if you like the taste of after eights! Yum yum!
7. Top Knot: I have a hairstyle favourite this month. It's been pretty cold and windy so I have literally been chucking my hair up into a messy top knot bun and adding a hair band to make it a bit more interesting. I really love it because its such an effortless and quick hairstyle.

FOOD FAVOURITE
Wrap Pizza! I love how quick and easy these are to make. All you need is a wrap and whatever toppings you want, chuck it in the oven for 10 minutes and BAM! You have a tasty pizza

October Favourites!

This months favourites are: Rimmel match perfection gel foundation, Covergirl lash blast length mascara, Extra dessert delights mint choc chip chewing gum, Bath and bodyworks cookie candle, Safehaven book.
I've been quite organised this month and actually managed to get my favourites up before the end of the first week of the month! (go me) So this month I have a random collection of favourites.
My first favourite is the Rimmel London Match Perfection gel foundation, I just recently switched back from the liquid to the gel foundation as the gel gives a lot more coverage then the liquid and applies a lot easier. The next make up item in my favourites is the covergirl lash blast length mascara, everyone loved it like last year but I've only just got round to using it and i really like it. The brush is plastic and at first it feels like you aren't actually applying any product but then its like BAM! your eyelashes look amazing! If only covergirl was available in the UK. A bit of a random one but I found some of the Extra dessert delights chewing gum when I was in Chicago, I chose the mint chocolate chip one and it is so good! It really tastes like the ice cream and I feel like the taste lasts a lot longer than normal gum. I'm trying to make it last for as long as I can because, unless I'm wrong, you can't get it here! When I took my first trip into bath and body works in California in July I picked out three candles and home baked cookies is my favourite scent EVER! It makes my room smell like a bakery, When I was in Chicago I topped up on all things cookie smelling. Yum! You can't really see them properly but on top of the candle there are my new favourite earrings that my lovely boyfriend got me whilst we are away, they are sparkly hearts! My last favourite this month is a book. Safehaven by Nicholas Sparks is amazing, I'm literally gripped to it. I really love Nicholas Sparks' books because he writes so well.
That is my October favourites! If you would like any reviews or if you have any questions on the products then please feel free to ask.

September Favourites!

I can't believe its October already! It will be Christmas before we know it. As it is now October its time for me to tell you about the things I've been loving in September.
So this months favourites are: The Naked pallet, Rimmel Stay Matte powder, Rimmel Colour mousse eyeshadow, Topshop Nail varnish, Rimmel primer, feather earings.

The Naked Pallet: see here for my massive rave about how amazing this pallet is!
Rimmel London stay matte powder: The colour I use is sandy beige. I honestly recommend this to anyone with oily skin because it contains natural elements that reduce shine perfectly!
Rimmel London colour mousse eyeshadow: Colour is Glitz, very neutral colour with a hint of pinky brown. Could be used as a base or on its own as a lid colour. very pretty and easy to apply.
Topshop Nail varnish: Heart of Gold. beautiful metallic gold colour, not too heavy on the glitter so comes off fairly easy. I would pair it with a neutral colour for daily use or wear alone for a night out.
Rimmel London primer: It looks like a moisturiser, feels like a moisturiser, works like a primer! Its the perfect thing for anyone who is prone to dry skin (like me) highly recommend this!
Feather earrings: Feathers have been really in this year as have feather extensions, these earrings from primark are a way of getting the extension look without having a feather permanently in your hair. love love love them for only £2.50!
Because Food favourites are fun too! I've been munching on doritos with onion and garlic dip a lot this month! yum yum yum!

August Favourites!

This is my first attempt at my favourites post but it's definitely going to be a regular (say, monthly?) one! Lets get started shall we?

1. Victoria Secret PINK with a splash, Fruity & Bright: The best smell EVER! I absolutely adore it. I got it when I was on holiday in July and have had to put off using it every day because I don't want to waste it but if I could use it every single day, I seriously would! yumm!

2. Urban Decay 'De Slick' setting spray: Life.SAVER! I, unfortunately, have oily skin and for some reason I only found this product last month but boy do I love it. My oily skin is kept to a minimum whilst I have this on under & on top of my make up (thats what the bottle says to do) if you have oily skin, i recommend you try this out!

3. MUA 'pretty pastels' eyeshadow pallet: I love MakeUpAcademy products, especially their eyeshadows because they are so freaking pigmented! I have 5 of the pallets but this is my favourite, and for £4 its a bloody steal! GO BUY IT! (just kidding, i will not force you too..) I am planning on a MUA eye shadow review soon!

4. Rimmel London 'pink blush' Lipstick: All I can say is I have finally found my perfect pastel pink lipstick! At.Last!

5. OPI 'Caught With My Khaki's Down' Nail Varnish: Not a colour I would normally go for but I have really loved wearing it, i'm sure it will be one of the colours I reach for more frequently in the autumnal months ahead.

6. ELF clarifying powder: I use this as a blotting powder. I carry this in my bag with me for those days where my skin is hating on me and over producing oil, it does the trick by blotting and mattifying the skin slightly. It impressed me for a £1.50 product.

FOOD FAVOURITE (something different)

7. Special K Double chocolate snack bar: I discovered this when it was on offer in Tesco, I was drawn in by the yummy looking chocolate on the wrapper & the fact it was only 50p! (ha-ha) They taste soo good and fill me up sufficiently, very helpful when you are feeling a little peckish during the day and don't want to stuff your face with tonnes of junk food!

I hope you all enjoyed!
Let me know what your favourites are!
