I can't believe 2011 is over in a few hours. This year has been full of ups and downs but isn't everyones? I was going to do a 'Year of memories' post but to be completely honest with you I can't really remember all the way back to January.. So I thought I would share some of my highlights from this year instead..
- In April I turned 18! Unlike the typical teenager on their 18th I didn't go out clubbing, instead I had a nice meal at TGIs with my closest friends and boyfriend who surprised me with a cookie cake from Millie's and the restaurant singing to me.. Me and Matt also took a trip to Paris for a week!
- In May my parents began the adoption process which I was so excited about. It was one of the main reasons I started my blog.
- In July I headed off to LA with my parents, it wasn't as glamorous as I had expected but I still had a great time in Disney and getting a VIP tour around universal studios which meant front of line access and walking on famous film sets like desperate housewives and war of the worlds!
- In August me and my boyfriend celebrated our first year together. It's gone so fast but I still love him!
- In October me and Matt headed off on another trip, this time to Chicago to visit his aunty and her family. The place where his aunty lives is so beautiful and matts cousins are the most adorable children in the world. I had so much fun spending the week with them!
So here's to 2012, hopefully a year full of more great memories and blogging! I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of my beautiful followers for following me this year! It means so much to me that you all take the time out of your days to read my posts and comment. You are honestly the nicest bunch of people in the blogging world and it's been a pleasure getting to know you all. Hopefully next year I will get to meet some of you too!
Have a Happy and enjoyable 2012!
Love Char XO

Beauty Blogger TAG
Today is the first day off TAG Friday! This weeks TAG is the Beauty Blogger one, I hope you enjoy!
1.What are your favourite type of blogposts to write?
I really like reviewing products that I have discovered myself, especially when they are at 'drugstore' prices and a decent standard.
2.What are your favourite blogs to read?
I follow mostly fashion and beauty blogs because I have developed a huge love for them. Every person I follow are the owners of some of the best blogs out there!
3.How did u pick your user name?
I have been using 'itscharr' for a long time on twitter so I figured I would just use it on here. It's my blog so I figured its charr is quite fitting.
4. Which beauty blogger is your inspiration?
I think everyone loves Zoe from Zoella. Her blog is incredible and her photography is amazing too.
5.Name one tip you learned through another beauty blogger?
Picture quality, really matters!
6.What made you make a blog?
My parents are going through the adoption process and I had searched the internet for a birth child's view on the process but I found hardly anything so I figured I could start a blog and write down my experiences. I found out the waiting time between each milestone is long so I added a bit of fashion and beauty into it.
7.Do you have a favourite blogpost of yours?
I was really proud of my Urban Decay Dupes post. I put a lot of effort into the comparison and finding the dupes. I guess that would be my favourite.
8.Name one pro and one con of being a beauty blogger?
A Pro is that the beauty blogging community is so freaking lovely! I can't really think of a Con right now..
9.What advice would would you give someone dealing with hate?
Don't retaliate to it, just remove it completely from your blog.
10. How long does it take you to write a blogpost?
Depends on the blogpost I guess, it could be anywhere from half an hour to and hour and a half.
11. What other blogs apart from beauty do you like to read ?
I follow a couple of photography and adoption blogs too.
12.Who have you made friends with through blogging?
I have a few people that I talk to away from the blog world. I think anyone I have talked to more than once on here is like a friend!
13. How do you get the ideas for blogposts?
Shopping, mostly. I get inspiration from some youtube gurus too.
14. Who do you tag ?
I TAG; Claire - XxDollyBlossom, Nicky - Nicky's Beauty Quest, Liz - Aspirations Of Glam, Jazz - Cupcakesnsweets, Rachael - LOTS, Lucy - Lucyy Writes, Zara - Pretty Visions and anyone else that wants to do this TAG!

December Glossybox Review
After last months box I was debating whether or not to cancel my subscription because I was so disappointed but it seems like glossybox held back until this months box and crammed it full of their best products. I loved this months box!
1) Blink + Go HD Mascara. 2) Deborah Lippmann nail polish. 3) Cargo Cosmetics lip gloss. 4) Mememe Seventh Heaven Primer. 5) Deborah Lippmann Stripped to go. 6) Rituals Foaming Shower Gel.
1) I am a huge fan of this mascara. It gives amazing definition to the lashes without clumping them together. It is waterproof but it comes off quite easily which is great for me because I have super sensitive eyes, excess scrubbing = intense pain! A full size mascara was in the box, if you were to buy it it would cost £14.99, a bit pricey for a mascara but it is really good quality, i'd say its worth it.
2) I am going to be honest and say that I haven't actually tried this polish out but I have seen so many positive reviews on it and pictures of what the varnish looks like on and it looks so gorgeous! I love a bit of glitter but I find that a heavy glitter polish takes forever to get off! I will be trying this out however because the colour looks so worth the effort of taking it off. Full size polish would set you back around £14 I think.
3) I received the cargo gloss in the shade 'Serengeti' which is a lovely shimmery peach colour. I used this on its own for a bit of shimmer or onto of a coral lipstick from rimmel. It is really nice, gives a subtle colour pay off and it isn't sticky! A full size of this gloss will cost £10 which isn't too bank busting as you'd pay around £13 for a MAC gloss.
4) The MeMeMe seventh heaven primer is my new favourite primer! I love this. It's moisturising, smells beautiful and fruity and really keeps your make up on! This product is great for when you wake up with dry skin you just need one product to moisturise your face, wake you up with the lovely smell and keep your make up firmly in place. I will be investing the £15 it costs for the full size when next pay day rolls round!
5) The stripped to go mitts are so useful! The single mitt in the packet cleared 10 nails worth of nail varnish, which included a little glitter, perfectly with nothing left on the nails. Having it on your fingers means it so much easier to hold and scrub. Full size is around £16 I believe.
6) When I first smelt the Rituals shower gel in 'Indian rose & sweet almond oil' I wasn't too sure I was going to like it. However, when I got round to using it in the shower I loved it! The fact is foaming makes it feel moisturising. Personally I feel like it washes and stays better on the body than a gel that normally just runs straight off. For only £6.50 I would buy this again and again.
What did you think of this months box?

A Little Update
Hey every one, this is my first post done on my iPad which is kind of exciting! I thought I would do a post letting you know about a few changes to my blog that have mostly been done and decided on today.
1. Contact Email Change: I have a new email address, it is now 'lovecharxo@gmail.com' this can be found in the 'Contact Me' section also.
2. Twitter Name Change: I am one for consistency so I have also changed my Twitter name to 'LoveCharXO' if you already follow me on twitter that's me, if you don't, why not!? Haha
3. Friday's Are TAG days: On Friday I never have enough time to do a decent detailed post so I have decided that for most Friday posts I will put up a TAG or something easy and fun. If you aren't interested in TAGs and such then feel free to ignore my blog on a Friday!
4. No Posts Sunday: Once I finish the 30 day beauty challenge I am doing at the moment I will no longer be posting on a Sunday. I work all weekend and on Sunday I kind of like to just come home and sit in front of the TV. One day wont make too much impact I hope :P

Christmas Day!
Hello you lovely lot! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Santa bought you everything you asked him for! I had a really lovely Christmas, I woke up at nine and went downstairs to see that Santa had been! I sat downstairs with my parents and we opened up all our presents while my dog ran wild with his new toys. We had 11 people in our house from about 11am till around 9pm. My mum cooked an extremely tasty meal and everyone seemed very happy! Typically a few members of the family fell asleep after dinner while the rest of us settled down to some Christmas movies. We swapped even more presents when they woke up and me and my cousin started facetiming each other whilst in the same house.
Here is what I wore on Christmas Day:
Santa came and wrapped my presents mostly in tinkerbell wrapping paper.
I got the last three (only two pictured) vampire diaries books, season 1 & 2 of Vampire diaries and season 1 - 4 of gossip girl. I have been wanting to watch those two shows for so long!
MAC! I was so excited when I saw these. I have wanted to start my own Mac pallet for so long and now I have 6 colours to start me off as well as 1 gloss and 3 lippies!
This is the cutest present of them all, It's a jewellery stand with some sparkles and a pearly butterfly on it! Lovvvelyy
My favourite and most appreciated present of them all, AN IPAD! I didn't even have it on my Christmas list but I had talked to my mum about them a couple of times. She told me that she thought it would be useful, educational as well as fun. Love my mum and dad for getting me everything they did on Christmas and the rest of the family and friends for their presents! I have the best people in my life ever!
I decided to make my Ipad a little more me by sticking a glittery 'C' sticker in the middle of the apple sign, still waiting on a case for it. I'm so scared I'm going to drop it and break it!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and If you hit the sales on boxing day I hope you grabbed some bargains! If anyone has any book, film or App recommendations for the Ipad then please let me know!

For the last two weeks I've had a poll running on my blog about whether you would like to see what I got for Christmas and you said yes! prepare for some pictures of some of my presents.. (please note that I am not bragging, If you don't like these posts then don't read it!)Santa came and wrapped my presents mostly in tinkerbell wrapping paper.

CNL: Snowman Nails + Christmas Tree Cookies!
Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I am back with another Current Nail Look, featuring a snowman this time, just in time for Christmas TOMORROW! Santa will be on his way tonight, woohoo!
The colours I used were an un-named pink glitter polish, Barry M's 'Block Orange', 17's 'Mini Skirt' and Rimmel London 'Blackout'
To create the look I put on a base coat followed by about 5 coats of the white polish. When that all dried I used a thin coat of the glitter polish to add a little sparkle (don't judge, it's christmas) Next I used my Sephora dotting tool, the large ball to create the eyes and the small ball to create the mouth. I used a toothpick and the Barry M polish to create the carrot nose!
Here is what it turned out looking like:
They look better in person, honest!
Let me know what your Christmas nails look like and link me to your posts if you have done one on the nail look, I'd love to see!
Last week I got a bit festive in the kitchen too and decided to bake some Christmas Tree cookies! I am actually quite proud of how they turned out, minus the childish decorative icing attempt, they look quite nice and taste pretty good!

Winter Clothing Essentials!
Last week I did a post on my Winter Skin Essentials so I thought I would continue this week with my picks for winter clothing essentials because, lets face it, you can't go around with super moisturised skin and no clothes unless you want to be arrested for indecent exposure! Below are my choices of things I am literally living in this season..
First up is my, slightly too big, red duffel coat that I got last year. It is so freaking warm, honestly, I can go out in the winter months wearing just this with a long sleeve t-shirt on underneath and still feel toasty. I find that it adds a nice pop of colour to my typical dark jeans or leggings that I constantly reach for. Pairing it with a floral scarf with similar colours just adds a bit of cheerfulness and warmth around the neck.
Accessory wise I have been a little obsessed with beanie style hats with long tassels. Apart from the white hat with the hearts on which is from Forever 21, the rest is all from primark at bargain prices. I think the most expensive thing was my hat which was £5! I like to wear the hats when I have my hair down, if I wear my hair up I will pop on either the grey or pink head band to keep my ears warm!
Leggings are one of my winter essentials, I honestly have about 6 pairs of just plain black leggings in my wardrobe. If I'm having a particularly lazy day I will just grab a pair from my wardrobe and pair them with a hoodie and my long riding boots.
WELLIES! I am slightly hoping for snow so I can get out in my brand new wellies, lovingly purchased by my wonderful boyfriend, and walk around in some fresh snow. To be honest, I would probably just wear these out any day if it was particularly cold and icy or if I just fancied it. Normally I would wear leggings with a pair of thick long socks just poking over the top to keep my legs extra warm.
What are your winter essentials, let me know in the comments!

Favourite Beauty Expert
To be honest I don't really have a favourite trained beauty expert but I really love watching beauty gurus such as Macbarbie07 on youtube. She is I think like 15 or 16 and she has amazing talent in the beauty and fashion tutorials. The quality of her make up tutorials are to a nearly professional standard. she's not shy to film her videos either. One of my favourite gurus.

Vivo Baked Blush Review!
When I first heard Tesco had released another of their own Make Up brands all those months ago I have to admit I was a little sceptical because its Tesco and they are a supermarket, not a beauty retailer. I decided, after reading many reviews on various people's blogs, that I would hop in my car and drive the all of 5 minutes over the road to my local (and gigantic) tesco and see what all the fuss was about. The first thing to catch my eye were the baked blushes and I am so glad they did.
L-R: Peaches & Cream (Shade 1), Rosy (Shade 2), Cinnamon Glow (Shade 3), Rouge Shimmer (Shade 4).
These are the only four baked blush shades available in the range and I had to buy all four coming in at £4 each. Compared to a lot of "drugstore" brands I think £4 is quite reasonable for a blush that size. Rosy and Rouge Shimmer are quite bright pinky shades where as Peaches & Cream is more of a, well peachy colour. I personally think that Cinnamon Glow could be used as a light bronzer if it is built up enough as it has more bronze tones to it than a blush.
(click the picture to enlarge it fully)
Here are some swatches so you can see what the shade pay off is from each of the blushes. When you first pick up the blush it looks like it contains a tonne of shimmer but when you actually apply it there is very little to no shimmer on your face which I think is really nice.
Below are some close ups of the individual blushes..
Shade 1 -
Peaches & Cream
This is one of my favourite shades to use. It gives a really nice warm glow to the cheeks. I have never owned a blush this colour before but I love it.
Shade 2 -
Rosy
Another favourite of mine which I have recently started to use a little more. It gives a really nice colour pay off with only the smallest amount of product.
Shade 3 -
Cinnamon Glow
I am yet to try this blush out apart from swatching it on my hand. I can't wait to try this out as a light bronzer as I am not a huge fan of proper bronzers. This will be a great replacement.
Shade 4 -
Rouge Shimmer
This one has more red undertones in the veining of the blush and it honestly so pretty on the skin. It will give a beautiful rosy red blush on the cheeks which is perfect for the winter season.
The Vivo range also has a tonne of 'Baked' eyeshadow colours, single and in pallet form which I am debating trying out in the future. If you are from the UK and live near a Tesco and haven't tried the Vivo range or even the blushes out before I highly recommend that you do because personally I love them and they have easily slipped their way into my every day routine. Let me know if you have tried any of the Vivo range out and which products you would recommend me to try!

Secret Santa Presents!
A few months ago I participated in a bloggers only secret Santa over on Navilicious Beauty's blog, She arranged the whole thing and managed everyone to make sure they all got their gifts sent and received by the deadline. My secret Santa was extremely organised this year as I got my gift in the post back in November. The lovely Claire sent me these goodies:
First things first, I love the smell of these products! I can't really describe what the smell like but boy do they smell good! I use hand food every single day and use the body butter after I've had a shower to keep my body smooth and smelling lovely!
The 'Scrub Em' and Leave Em'' body scrub is so nice to use after I have shaved my legs, they are literally so smooth and silky afterwards. Love it.
I try not to use the body wash regularly because I want to keep it for as long as possible due to how much I love it. Big versions of all the soap and glory products are 3 for 2 in boots right now and I have been so tempted to get 'hand food', 'Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em' and 'Clean, Girl' every time I have been in there. I fear for my bank balance sometimes, I really do.
I have never really been a huge fan of lip plumping products because I tried one once and it actually hurt my lips. With the 'Sexy Mother Pucker' lip plumping gloss you can't resist wearing it due to the beautiful shimmery pink gloss. To avoid a tonne of plumping I tend to apply a small amount to the centre of my lips and rub it around with my finger tip. Everyone needs to own this gloss, honestly!
The 'Glow Lotion' is going to be perfect for the summer when the legs are out on display. Spraying the smallest amount onto the legs and lightly rubbing it in gives your legs the most amazing shimmer. It leaves no colour to your skin but leaves them looking flatteringly beautiful. Another must have from Soap & Glory.
Thank you so much Claire for all these lovely presents, I am extremely grateful for them and very pleased that you were my Secret Santa!
Everyone, get on over to Claire's blog and check her out!

30 Day Beauty Challenge - Day 14
Photo of a hairstyle/haircut you'd like to have
I saw an advert recently with Cheryl Cole sporting a super cute shoulder length, messy, layered bob style. If I wasn't so fixed on growing my hair longer I would totally take this into my hairdressers and ask her to chop it all off. Even typing this out and looking at the picture I am slightly tempted to get it chopped. hmm, decisions!
How excited are you all for Christmas now that its only ONE WEEK AWAY! A few Christmas themed posts coming next week! A couple are being pre-written because next week is going to be redunkulously hectic.

CNL: Christmas Nails!
It is just over a week to go until Christmas! I decided to get festive with my nails and hope they stay nice until next Sunday!
I included a bit of everything, the traditional red and white as well as, of course, some glitter!
I used a base coat followed by BeautyUK's 'Coral Surprise', on top of that I put an unnamed glitter polish. To do the white tips I used 17s 'Mini Skirt' and my Sephora dotting tool to line the tips. Once it had all dried I covered my nails in a top coat!

I adore Taylor Swifts girly and effortless style. If I could constantly wear dresses and skirts I would. She is absolutely beautiful as well!
