Adventure Time!

Me and my boyfriend go on a fair few adventures from late night Tesco trips in our pyjamas to a four day adventure to see Josh's dad. We left on Monday night after Josh finished work and after two hours in the car, seeing the biggest tesco in the world (no, seriously, it's absolutely massive) and getting a little tour of the area we arrived at Josh's dad's house. After one of the nicest pizza's I've had in a long time we chilled, watched movies and ate junk food. Josh decided it would be a good idea to get me to try some hot sauce, I say hot sauce it's more like fire in a bottle. Being the sympathetic boyfriend that he is he laughed as I cried.. (tut tut) Tuesday, I got my butt absolutely kicked at bowling, however I did manage to win one game (just) and only because Josh was being a good boyfriend a bowling left handed instead of right handed, a win is a win! We saw 'Rock Of Ages' in the coolest cinema, which had sofa's at the back and they gave you like nachos and sweets during the film, worth the extra money paid for it cause it was super comfy. I found a gooden' with Josh cause he is an amazing cook, he makes the best fajitas everrrrr, yum! Wednesday was our last proper day in which we shopped, chilled and then went out for a meal with some of Josh's family at a very nice Chinese restaurant. Before dinner we stopped off at the weirdest pub I've ever seen in my life, its called the Crooked House and it literally is crooked, makes you feel a bit tipsy when you walk inside. I was shown how if you roll a marble along the top of a chair it rolls up instead of down, god knows how it's done, strange!

A little while back I was at a place in my life that was far from great but Josh came along and has made every day happy and positive ever since. I haven't been this happy in a long time and it's all thanks to him! Thank you Joshie, Love you!

A Little Update!

When you read this I will be in Birmingham on day 2 of my little adventure with my boyfriend which I am super happy about. I thought I would give you guys a little update on my life cause I have been pretty AWOL from blogging so why not let you all know!? Where do I start..
I finished college last Monday which was sad saying goodbye to two amazing years of education which really shone through in the grades I managed to achieve. I walked out comfortably with two distinction* which is the highest grades you can get. All through school I fell into the middle or bottom bands when it came to grades so to leave with the highest grade possible makes me so unbelievably proud of myself. To top it all off I got an award for being the "outstanding student of the year" in my tutor, ooh yeaaaaaahhh! Here's to 6+ weeks of summer, bring on the sunshine!
Me and Mum finally sold our house! After it being on the market for 5 months and many disagreements with one estate agent we swapped to another one and they sold it within two weeks, you go elevations! Right now we are on the hunt for our new perfect home. It's going to be a sad day when we have to pack up and leave but it's best for everyone to leave this home and all the bad memories behind and move on with our lives. Besides, I'm thinking of a Moving House Series featuring lots of interesting posts when it all kicks off!
I am heading off to Malta in three weeks time with my mum, aunty and cousin for a girls holiday. I am super excited to get away, get some proper sunshine and see where my mum and aunty spent some of their childhood. It's going to be a good trip however I am probably going to miss my boy! Currently I am attempting to plan outfits for the holiday as normally I just chuck a load of clothes in a case and never think whether they go together or not. This year I will consider it first before packing them up!
I am a bit of a "reality" tv junkie so I am looking forward to Geordie Shore coming back, it's bound to be hilarious. Slightly disappointed that so much good tv has finished though! Bye bye One Tree Hill, Desperate Housewives, Towie and Made In Chelsea.. I've got really into Smash (the grown up Glee) which is a goodun'
Anyway, that is what's been going on recently. Back to blogging like I used to!

CNL: Fuchsia Fever!

I recently rediscovered my love for Barry M nail varnish which I good because I have an extensive collection of them alone never mind adding everything else into it. I seem to be reaching for the pinky shades this season so I quickly decided on this lovely fuchsia shade, which I have owned for a while so I'm not sure if you can still get it, probably though knowing Barry M. Took only 2 coats to get it looking its best!

Featured Blogger - Beca

Beca is a 27 year old blogger over at Becaboosmakeup who just recently reached 100 bloggers, an amazing milestone!  Congratulations Beca!

THE BLOG: I started my blog October 2011. After reading beauty blogs and watching Youtube videos for a few years, I decided to join in and "Becaboosmakeup" was created. I wanted to share my views and love of make-up. I love trying out new things so I like to review and swatch products and give my honest opinions on them so you can see what something is like before you buy. I love to get my readers involved and give something back so I also have regular giveaways! I am still new to all this but I'm really enjoying having a go!

THE BLOGGER: My name is Rebecca but you can call me Bec and I live in the West Midlands. I love browsing for, and buying new make-up, haircare, skincare and clothes, so much so that it drives my boyfriend to despair lol. He tries to calm my spending down but he doesn't have much luck! I have a boring job and so I enjoy putting my creativity into my blog and videos so that hopefully you can enjoy them all! I also love trash TV as my boyfriend calls it. And I love food. A little too much most of the time

THE FACTS:
  1. 1.   I can't speak properly sometimes especially when I have a word beginning with a H followed by a word beginning with a vowel. A prime example was when I was in Subway and I was trying to order a 6 inch turkey and ham sub on the honey oat bread. I ended up saying "oney hoat" lol! Unless I consciously slow down my speech, this always happens lol
  2. 2.  I am a very open person so I very often come out with things that other people would be too embarrassed to say or talk about.
  3. 3.  And lastly, a couple of random facts - I once sang for the Queen and I was a member of Mensa. Yeah I find it hard to believe too especially with some of the things I come out with lol.
Thank you Beca for taking part!

Colour B4 - Review!

I did the unthinkable the other day, I dyed my hair and absolutely hated it. It was a "deep red" colour that looked more purple than red and was too dark for my liking so I went into panic mode. I knew my boyfriend would hate it so I just had to get rid of it somehow before he got rid of me! (That probably would happen before you all get all "overreaction of the century!" on me haha) Anyway, back to the point of this post.. I trawled through the boots website looking for something that would sort out my dodgy hair situation. I came across the 'Colour B4' colour remover. Little warning, DO NOT use a colour STRIPPER unless you want bleached blonde hair! (I didn't do this but just don't do it!)
Like your typical hair dye you have to mix the solution together using the remover (b) and the activator (a) in bottle B and shaking them up for 30 seconds. After that you need to generously apply the solution all over your hair, concentrating on your roots/ top of your head, if like me you end up with more colour on top then on the bottom (lame). You let the solution sit in your hair for 30 minutes before rinsing it off for 5-7 minutes depending on the length of your hair. The proper removal stage comes from the 'Buffering' treatment (c) which you apply like shampoo, leave on for a minute then rinse for a further 5 minutes before applying again and rinsing off just like a standard shampoo. Then towel dry.
The results, they were interesting.. It claims to remove the colour back to your natural hair colour at its lightest. Now, I'm pretty sure I never had a ginger tinge to my hair before so I would advise buying a semi permanent hair dye in your or as close to your natural hair colour as possible just to get you back to normal as soon as possible!
I would recommend this to anyone with a hair emergency, or you could just not dye your hair and hate it!

It's the final countdown!

dunununuuu dununununuu! *sing it*
The last two years of education have been the best two years, ever. I hated school with a passion despite having amazing friends it just wasn't for me so I left and started studying Sports Science at college. In September 2010 I joined a huge group of people in a really unfamiliar place, sitting in the sports hall feeling ridiculously nervous because I knew no one, not cool. We eventually got separated into our new classes and after a few sessions of 'ice breakers' the class had bonded pretty well. For the next two years our class was really close, we had our odd off moments but we sorted them pretty quickly and things remained the same. I probably would never have managed to get through the last two years if it wasn't for the girls, Kelly, Siobhan and Ellie, we have been the "Awesome Foursome!" and they have become like my best friends. Each day was guaranteed to be full of laughs and some seriously hilarious banter especially between Kelly and Siobhan. These girls have made the last two years bearable, hilarious and fun, I actually enjoy going to college just because of them, my god am I going to miss them! The teachers at college are so different to the teachers at school because they treat you like friends. It has been so easy to mess around with them, joke with them and talk to them when things get serious, nothing would make you feel as comfortable as that. Some, well I'd say one, is an idiot who I will not miss but there is a few that I will miss because they are so funny and nice. What's more fun then watching your teacher "wrestle" with a student and then attempting to throw you over his shoulder? nothing, cause crazy stuff like that doesn't happen at school!

On Monday I am going into college for the final day of my course, I'll be saying goodbye to some amazing friends who I genuinely hope to stay in contact with, to the teachers who have helped me achieve my best results I've ever had and to the best two, educational, years I've ever had.
I hate saying goodbye.

Featured Blogger - Lucia!

Lucia is 20 Years old and from Spain. She has been blogging fashion, beauty and hauls over at Girly Frame for just under a year.

The Blog: On my blog I like to make haul posts because it can inspire people to see which stores have what and where to go to buy certain things, outfits of the day, random weekly photos of my life, product reviews, inspired outfits from tv shows or celebrities and some other posts like fashion books, inspiration, things that I’m loving, monthly favourites…It’s a way for me to show my fashion style and my love for makeup and share it with people who like fashion and beauty as well; and also, while I do that, I show my personality too.

The Blogger: My name’s Lucia (which is pronounced Lu-thi-ah) and I live in Madrid, Spain. I study journalism at university because I love writing. Because of that and my passion for shopping, fashion, beauty and all of that stuff I decided to create this blog. I also love watching tv shows and movies to the point that it’s kind of a crazy addiction of mine; the same as listening to music, which I do all the time. I’m the biggest procrastinator ever, so I’m actually proud of myself for keeping up with this blog.

The Facts:
1. I'd love to be a writer or a screenwriter. I think that's why I watch that many tv shows.
2. My style is casual most of the time but I like to add girly things to my outfits so they're not boring.
3. I spent my senior year of high school in the US and I'm in love with the country. I want to live there in the future.

Thank you for getting involved!

Hey, Sailor!

MAC's "Hey, Sailor!" collection is something I have been pining over since the day it hit the high street. Like most beauty obsessed girls I love a bit of MAC and like most girls in general I love the nautical theme so when MAC laun.ched their own nautical themed make up collection I just had to  buy something. I had a £10 debenhams voucher to spend so off I went to get me some MAC The products I chose were the eyeshadow in 'Nautical Navy' and a suntint in 'Abalone'

'Nautical Navy' is a lovely navy blue shade (obviously) which is highly pigmented with the slightest shimmer to it which is the nicest colour to use when creating a smoky look on the eyelid. It could be created by using this shade lightly and building it up to change the colour. The  suntint in 'Abalone' is going to be the perfect addition to my holiday make up bag (post on that soon?) as it contains SPF20 which will protect my lips from the sun! Despite it being in a tube the tint is far from sticky which I love and it leaves a really nice pinky colour to the lips, along the "my lip colour but better!" line. The eye shadow was £12.50 and the lip suntint was £11.50, I paid £14 for the lot

A Peek At My Week (#8/#9)

Coach stuck in my estate/ My beetle enjoying the sunshine/ College work is almost done/ Sparkly nails/ Jubilee nails/ The little things/ Nandos!/ Messy room.
I have been a bit awol on the blogging front recently but I will be back soon cause college is nearly over and I will be free for three whole months! I have been working pretty hard on getting as much work done as quickly as possible so I can get on with enjoying this extremely typical English "summer." Speaking of summer, the few days of heat we did have I was out in my beetle with the roof down just because I can, felt like a proper girly girl but hey, it's my dream car so why not drive it with pride? I have been switching up my nails a little the last two weeks due to getting in the patriotic mood with the Jubilee and such. I went to a street/garden party which was so lovely despite the poopy weather. I became a little messy and invested in those highly functional floordrobes which has housed the content of my wardrobe and drawers over the past couple of weeks due to me becoming a tad lazy..
I hope you all have had a lovely week!

May Favourites!

It's slightly disappointing that it is now June yet as I write this post it is pouring with rain outside, where has the sunshine gone!? A random favourites this month which doesn't contain a lot of beauty because I hadn't really invested in any new products last month. The nail favourites this month are Avon's nail strengthener which helps fix my split and damaged nails in a matter of days and essie's 'Tart Deco' which is a beautiful thick coral polish which is so nice, I featured it in  this post. A rediscovery for me was MAC's 'Crème Cup' lipstick, somehow I managed to forget what a nice shade and consistency this lipstick has I definitely made the most of wearing it this month. I have done a full review of the Bourjois 123 foundation which I have absolutely loved this month, interested? see it here. Some of you may be like "why on earth is this girl featuring period pain ibuprofen on her favourites post?" well, ladies, you are looking at your new best friend when it comes to those horrible period pains, they start working around 15-20 minutes after you take them and keep you pain free for a good 6 hours. I swear by these as I am one of those girls who gets serious pains and I find it so hard to get comfy and pain free with normal ibuprofen but these take away the pain quickly and leave you feeling almost normal. A-May-Zing. Last up is sudocrem which has done some serious good to my skin when I use it twice a week as a face mask, bye bye redness and big spots! Yankee Candle's 'soft blanket' scent is the nicest thing I have ever smelt, personally I think it smells better than the other 'clean' scents. Plus, how adorable is the picture on it?
Sorry I have been a little lacking on the blogging front recently, I am working hard to finish my final assignments from college so I can get signed off and finished for summer! I will be back to my normal blogging soon I hope!

Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation Review!

I haven't really bought into the Bourjois brand, not sure why but I just tend to brush past it when I'm in boots or superdrug. That was until I heard numerous bloggers rave about the 123 perfect foundation. Bourjois claim that this foundation contains three colour correcting pigments, a yellow to conceal dark circles, Mauve to add radiance and green to neutralise redness which all together "correct and conceal all blemishes" as well as SPF10, anti-shine and 24 hour hydration. Now I am going to start off by saying it doesn't cover "all" blemishes but it does a good job covering a nice amount, I'd say it falls into a medium coverage bracket. Although it doesn't cover all blemishes it certainly does dull the redness and make them less noticeable which is always a good thing. The foundation is super easy to apply, I put two pumps on the back of my hand and use my ELF flat top powder brush to buff it into my skin. It's safe to say that this could become my new holy grail foundation because it does two things I love, it doesn't dry out my skin and it doesn't make my skin look oily or shiny just like it claims! When I have this foundation on my face instantly looks more awake and bright which is nice when underneath it I am a sleepy, dull faced mess! I've had my bottle for around a month now and I'm not even half way through it. All in all a very good foundation, I'd say it is definitely worth the £10.99 price tag.

CNL: Nails Fit for the Queen!

So yesterday was apparently the 'Official' Jubilee day however I am going to a street party today and figured I'd get a bit patriotic with my nails. I did the standard blue and red alternation but thought "why not get a bit arty" Using a couple of cocktail sticks and a blob of red and white polish I drew on the flag to the best of my D grade art "skillz" lets just say the right hand turned out worse.. awkward.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your four day Jubilee weekend and eat and drink copious amounts at whatever celebrations and festivities you are heading off to in this typically un-glorious British weather. I've worked 3 out of the four days, but I guess that's what you get for working in retail!
Have a lovely day!

Featured Blogger - Rachael!

Rachael is 21 and has been blogging for over two years over at Island girl insights. Check it out, you are bound to find a number of things you'll love!

The Blog:  I guess my blog is a lot like me, a big eclectic mix of all things weird and wonderful. I love to talk about fashion, beauty and travelling but I'll also happily talk your ears off about videogames, books, Doctor Who and other such totally nerdy things! I also have a bit of a nail polish problem and I like to exploit that each week :)

The Blogger: Well I guess I'm all of the aforementioned things, plus: I am currently studying for my BSc in Psychology at St Andrews Uni, I've just finished my 4th year (of 5). I am an avid animal lover and have two gorgeous cats at home - plus I claim my boyfriends 4 dogs and 4 cats as my own too. I'm in the process of the otherwise pointless task of growing my hair long enough so that I can sit on it, like I did as a kid.

The Facts:
1. I am pretty weird.
2. I sometimes wish I was born Chinese instead of English.
3. I want to be a teacher.
