March 'Harrods' Glossybox

I have been a real bad blogger recently and for that I am very sorry! College work has completely taken over my life for the last two weeks but yesterday I handed my assignments in and now I am off for two weeks so I aim to be back, blogging in full force!
I know I'm not alone when I say, I was slightly disappointed in the Harrods glossybox. I was expecting a bit more then piddly samples and yet another Clarins product, especially when its from Harrods possibly the richest store ever surely they could afford to put at least one full size in the box! I was a lucky one who got the Burberry lipstick but it was quickly off loaded to my mum as its really not that great colour wise and consistency wise. I think the only product from the box I will use is the Molton Brown soap because it smells quite nice. The YSL and Clarins products are both aimed at firming wrinkles and skin which as a nearly 19 year old its not something I've had to worry about yet, two more products shifted to my mums collection.
I am going to give glossybox one more chance with the April box, if it fails to succeed with a good box I will be un-subscribing and getting on the market to join a new box. If anyone is subscribed to a box that they are loving at the moment then please please let me know so I can have a look at your posts about them!
Have a lovely day beauties!

Birthday Wishlist!

Nicki Minaj OPI mini's. Viva La Juicy perfume. MAC's 'Watch me simmer' Lipstick. Topshop crochet hotpants. Juicy couture Ipad2 case. Red converse Hi-Tops. Niall Horan.

It's my birthday soon (9th April) who's excited? I AM! I'm going to be 19 but I really don't feel that old. It is around this time where people start asking me what I would like for my birthday so I decided to put together a little wishlist of the things that I wouldn't mind unwrapping on B'Day.

I have been eyeing swatches of the nicki minaj opi collection for the longest time and when I found the mini's on amazon I instantly wanted them, a must have on the birthday wishlist. I currently have the smaller Viva La Juicy perfume but it is down to its last drops so it kind of needs replacing and what perfect time to do it than my birthday? I have become a sucker for mac recently so surprise surprise its on here! I spotted the shop mac lipstick collection and 'watch me simmer' struck me straight away as a must have. How pretty are those shorts? I may buy them myself before my birthday as I'm kind of pining for them. I have wanted the Juicy Couture ipad2 case since Christmas, its a hardback case and I have been wanting one of those for a while. My favourite pink converse have a hole in them *crys* so my grandma ever so kindly offered to buy me a red pair for my birthday thanks to some hint dropping from me, yay! Finally, If anyone would like to deliver Niall Horan from One Direction to my house on my birthday I would appreciate it. He is a cutie!

Viva Glam Nicki!

The ever so lovely Nicky sent me a code from MAC to order the brand new Nicki Minaj Viva Glam colab lipstick before general release. I was so happy that Nicky chose me to send the code to because she is a really great blogger friend plus I had been craving the lipstick since I first saw the collection advertised. I have played it pretty safe with lipsticks in the past with natural pink shades and nudes however I am now feeling a bit more daring to wear brighter shades of pink and the classic red lip. Anyway, who's ready for a bright barbie pink lipstick?
Classic packaging picture. This lipstick is a satin finish and is honestly so freaking pigmented with one application so touch ups are at a minimum if you don't mind a slightly faded but still bright pink by the end of the day. The lipstick was £13.50 so nothing different to your standard lipstick however the entire £13.50 is going to help fight HIV and AIDS, so you can stock up your lipstick collection and do some serious good!

Look how freaking pretty and bright that colour is! I would wear this every day if I could. I am becoming quickly addicted to brighter colours and Mac lipsticks so watch out bank balance!

On the lips, bright pink and lovely!
I highly recommend this lipstick to everyone, especially if you have been thinking about it for a while.

My Makeup Story TAG

I've seen a few people doing this tag for a while now so I figured why not jump on the band wagon!? Plus its a fun little thing to do to fill the little lack of blog inspiration I'm having today.

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
I think I was in year 9 or 10 when I started wearing makeup properly, like a full face of makeup, that was when I started getting spots :(
2. How did you get into makeup?
My bestfriend is actually to blame for this, she started wearing makeup before me and always did really pretty looks. She told me to buy an eyeliner and that's how it all started
3. What are some of your favourite brands?
I have actually done a post on this which you can see here but I'd say Rimmel, MAC and MUA.
4. What does makeup mean to you?
It's an everyday essential, if I'm going out, but I think its really fun to sit at my makeup table in the morning and make myself look pretty.
5. If you could only wear four products on your face what would they be?
17 foundation, Rimmel setting powder, NYX 'peach' blush and urban decay setting spray. I was going to say mascara but I guess that's for your eyes right?
6. What is your favourite thing about makeup?
I can cover up all the parts of my skin that I'm not a massive fan of.
7. What do you think about drugstore vs high end makeup?
I actually own more drugstore makeup products than high end because you get similar quality products for a much lower price, therefore you can buy more however I am a fan of MAC, can't go wrong with the brand.
8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?
Find the right shade of foundation first before you start on anything else. Also, Less is More!
9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?
Wearing bright eyeshadows, I'm talking neons. Fine for your nails, not great on the lids.
10. What do you think about the beauty community on youtube and blogger?
I'm not part of the youtube community but I have found that the blogger community is one of the nicest I have been part of. Everyone is so lovely to each other and I am hoping I get to meet a lot of the bloggers I have got closer to soon!

Update & Disappearing!

Hey everyone!
This is going to be a short update post today to let you know what has been going on and what's going on. So it's been over two weeks since 'that' incident that left me a little distraught however I am feeling rather fabulous and a lot better with the entire situation. I have got used to only seeing my dad at weekends recently and things seem rather normal between mum and dad when they actually see each other. I have adjusted to it and accepted that this is life from now on!
Once again assignment deadlines from college have popped up for two weeks time for two assignments that I haven't even started yet. This subsequently means that I am going to be disappearing from the blogging scene for a while so I can knock out two full assignments to the best of my ability. I am going to miss college a lot when its all over in a little over 3 months (cry) I have met so many lovely people over the last two years who I am genuinely going to miss when they all bugger off to uni, minus a couple who I am hoping that when they say they want to see me still and make plans for summer that they actually mean it and stick to it, they make me laugh so much I would miss it if it didn't continue for a long time! Anyway, back to blogging. I will be putting up a few posts over the next two weeks but they are pre written posts so any comments or questions that are left will be replied to when I get back from slaving over assignments. Please don't think I'm being rude and ignoring you!
I am now off to start working, see you soon!

Bicester Village Haul

A couple of weeks ago I went on a adventure trip to Bicester Village and was treated and treated myself to a few purchases because I was in a mood for burning some money, we all get that feeling sometimes right..? I haven't done a haul for a while so I figured why not show you what I ended up with.
First up makeup! The main place I like to go in Bicester is the Cosmetics Company Store for some bargain priced MAC products!
I chose two sets from previous collections, not sure which, from last year I believe. The first set is the Fabulously Festive Face Kit/Warm. This collection included small pallet with 4 eyeshadows in Golden Flurry, Soft Brown, Omega and Carbon and when you slide the eyeshadows out they reveal a peachy pink blush in 'Seasonal Appeal' I really love the top of the pallet because it has a dome on top with snow globe like glitter effect if you shake it. As well as the pallet the collection contained a frost lipstick in 'Mellowarm' which is a deep pink colour and a lipglass in 'Join the Party.' There are also three mini brushes the 266, 275 and 129.
Next up I got the Iced delights eye bag/Pearl. This came with a eyeshadow duo with 'Taupeless' and 'Celestial Black' as well as a technakohl liner in 'Purple Dash' and the zoom fast black lash mascara I have wanted for a while. This collection came with another mini 275 brush. I'm not a fan of the bag it all came in as it looks and feels a little cheap but the products in side more than make up for it.
I took a trip to Cath Kidston and picked up a selection of make up bags, I was really impressed with these bags because of the discounted prices and because they are wipe clean inside, its the little things.. Plus it has an adorable pattern on it!
Finally, a trip to Jack Wills. Now I'm not a massive Jack Wills fan but I spotted a couple of nail varnishes a turquoise blue and bright pink. I am wearing the blue now and it has lasted surprisingly well. I also got two highlighters because they were £1 and I use them in my blog book a lot.

So that's my Bicester haul! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

NYX Haul!

My original beauty spending ban is now over due to me now not going to Florida in July (boo!) So to mourne I am allowing myself to spend a bit on make up. I have wanted to try Nyx Cosmetics for the longest time but had never got round to actually putting in an online order until a few weeks ago.
I originally wanted to put in an order for mainly eyeshadows and jumbo eye pencils but instead I opted for a bit of variety. I chose one jumbo eye pencil in 'Strawberry Milk' which is a pretty, slightly shimmery pastel pink shade which looks great worn alone over the entire lid. The other eyeshadow I chose was an eyeshadow in 'Aloha' a lovely golden taupe colour which looks amazing alone or paired with a light brown colour in the corner of the eye. I am becoming quite a fan of blushes recently so of course I picked up a blush in 'Peach' which although it looks quite bright in person its actually quite a pale, build-able colour which looks really natural on the skin.
Like most people I am a sucker for lipsticks and glosses so of course they would be added to the basket. First up is the standard Nyx circular lipstick in 'Athena' It is a really pretty pink lipstick with a slight shimmer in it, I would say its more of a night out lipstick than an every day wear one due to the shimmer however, still a lovely shade. The Nyx lipgloss in 'Pink Frost' seems to be a token gloss around the beauty community and I can see why. This is a creamy, slight shimmer, pink gloss that gives lovely colour to the lips. Thankfully it isn't a sticky gloss so no need to worry about your lips sticking together or stray hairs getting caught up in it.
I have only ever used ELF's skin coloured eye primer to prime my eyes before but when I spotted this on the Nyx website I figured it would make a nice change. I believe this is the pearl white version, it also comes in skin colour and just white, and I am a huge fan of this. The white pearl colour really brings out the eyeshadow colours on the lid and makes them more prominent. You only need the smallest amount to do both eyes so the small pot will last forever!

Are you a Nyx fan? What are your favourite products?

OOTD: Bright Blue

I haven't done one of these posts in ages! In the summer I will do a tonne because I wear all my favourite clothes then. Anyway, here is what I am wearing today whilst I am seeing my grandma and helping her bake cakes for her church teas.

Showing a bit of skin today, naughty. I have been waiting for a chance to wear this blazer, from missguided, ever since I ordered it. It is a brightish blue and I love it! (sorry my camera is dying so quality is a bit bad) I paired it with a plain white slightly cropped top and a pair of plain black super skinny jeans which are a complete mission to get on and off, I am not even kidding when I say sometimes I require assistance from my mum to help me get them off. Leopard print belt, everyone loves a little leopard print.

I wish I had got a better picture of my shoes but they are my all time favourite cowboy boots. They cost £90 but I have had them for about three, yes three, years and they get better with age and wear.

I am rocking the matching nails today too! This is the colour 'Turquoise' by Jack Wills which I got the other day. Haul coming soon!

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Depotting MUA Eyeshadows & Z Pallet!

Who's ready for a picture heavy post? You are? Great, lets get started. In today's post I am going to cover two things, Depotting and the Z Pallet. I decided a while back that I was going to invest, I use that term as it was £15, in a Z Pallet so I can depot all my MUA 12pc pallets and condense them into one place.

DEPOTTING:
You Will Need: Your eyeshadows, A Pin, Some tin foil and a Straightener.
A lot of people use candles to depot but I decided to use my straightener as it causes less damage to the bottom on the pallet and doesn't smell as strong of melting plastic.
Place the tin foil onto of the hot straightener and place the pallet on top, hold it down for between 40seconds to a minute to give the glue on the bottom enough time to soften up and loosen off.
Once the glue has softened up take a pin and run it around the edge of the pan to loosen it off, it should just pop out of the pallet if the glue is soft enough if not nudge the pin slightly underneath the pan to dislodge it slightly. If all else fails and you have a particularly stubborn eyeshadow chuck it back on the heat for a few more seconds.
Once I had depotted the eyeshadows from 5 MUA pallets I stuck little magnets on the bottom of them as I found the magnetised bottom of the Z Pallet doesn't hold the pans that well. I got a roll of sticky magnets from hobbycraft for £3 and just cut them off.
My completed pallet. Mathematicians among you may realise that this pallet only holds 45 colours and 12 colours x 5 pallets = 60. I did end up throwing some colours away either because I destroyed them when trying to get some out of the pallets or they were really similar to a colour I already have in depotted. Some may see that as a waste but I found that cutting them down and having a variety of colours meant that I could make more use of them.
Overall I think the large Z pallet is a good investment if you have a lot of pallets lying around cluttering up your make up collection that you would rather keep together. Now that I have got rid of 5 MUA pallets I have been able to divide my eye drawer better.

Coastal Scents 88 Warm Pallet

Like neutrals? You will love this! I have had this pallet for around four months and I love it a lot. I got my pallet from Amazon.co.uk for £23 which works out around 3p an eyeshadow, bargain? I think so! I find the colours to be nicely pigmented which means less is more and because they are smaller pans you use less of the colour so they last longer. This pallet contains a colour for every single look you want to go for so if you were going on holiday for two weeks you could take this and be set with a different look each night! Picture time..

I had considered buying another coastal scents pallet but I think this one has everything I could ever need from matte colours to shimmery ones. If you are thinking about getting any coastal scents pallets I highly recommend this one because it has the lot!

Sorry blogging has been a bit scarce this week, I've spent a lot of time out with friends after college so I've been a little busy. I'll be better next week I promise!

February Favourites!

I'm back! Before I get into my favourites I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of you who left such lovely comments on my last post. It is so nice to know that there are such nice people out there who are essentially still strangers who care enough to say such nice things which have honestly really helped me stay positive. I'm doing okay now and I think my mum is getting there too, I'm still talking to my dad like normal which is also nice. THANK YOU!!

1. Neutrogena deep clean scrub. 2. EOS lipbalm. 3. Topshop 'show off' lipstick, 4. 17 Miracle Matte foundation. 5. Z- Pallet.
1. I have recently rediscovered neutrogena face scrub which I am super glad I did. My skin has been pretty dry recently and haven't really thought of using an exfoliant to actually clear the dead skin cells until I spotted this in my junk drawer in my bathroom. I use this every other time I shower, it is a soft exfoliant which leaves your skin feeling cool and clean once it has been washed off. I have found that my skin looks a little brighter after use too which has been nice to see.
2. Since getting my braces lipbalms have been my best friends, I apply my mint chocolate one at night and reach for my EOS one first thing in the morning. The scent is my favourite things about it because it is so sweet and fruity which wakes me up and leaves me feeling summery all day as well as keeping my lips moisturised and therefore less likely to get ripped by my brace. I wish EOS was available here.
3. The topshop 'show off' lipstick was one of my first purchases from the topshop make up range and was also my first 'less safe' lipstick colour as it is a pretty hot pink. Weirdly I think it smells like jelly beans, which I love. The colour is so pigmented and I find that it lasts for such a long time that you hardly need to reapply. I wear this lippie quite a lot since finding it in my make up drawer this month.
4. I have done a full on rave about this foundation right here which you can read if you are curious about the product. To sum it up this foundation is so light to apply and feels like its barely on the skin yet gives medium to heavy coverage, as someone with acne I am impressed with how well it hides things. It's oil free, doesn't dry out the skin and costs £6. What more could you want!?
5. The Z pallet has been a fun little project for me to do, it took me around 2 days to complete. I de potted 5 out of my six MUA pallets into the Z pallet. I am going to do a full post on de-potting and the Z pallet soon so I shan't say too much here! Look out for that.

That was my February Favourites! I hope you enjoyed and perhaps found something you liked.

The End.(?)

The 3rd March was possibly the worst day of my entire life. When my dad dropped me off at work and said “I will see you at 8, hopefully” I thought nothing of it because as far as I was aware there was absolutely nothing wrong in our family life. Boy was I wrong. When my dad picked me up from work at 8pm he asked me how my day was I said fine and asked him how his was, expecting a "yeah, okay" in reply. That was not the case. Instead he pulled the car over in the carpark and began to apologize to me, telling me he didn't want me to hate him but he had decided to leave my mum. I felt numb, I still feel numb. I wanted to cry but I just couldn't find any tears. We sat and talked about it and I told him I could never hate him because he's my dad at the end of the day. When I got home I sat with my mum and cried, a hell of a lot, she was just as shocked as me. I didn't know what to do with myself, what to think. Are we going to have to sell the house? Where will my dad go? How on earth will we get through this!?  It was hard for my mum and dad to come to the decision that dad should stay at my grandma's (his mums) because there was no cheating involved and there is no one else involved so it was hard for my mum to scream, shout and kick him out so he stayed last night, but slept downstairs.

This morning me and mum went out to tell my grandma and granddad (her mum and dad) and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to listen to. I have never heard my mum cry so hard and so much when she told my granddad and he just comforted her and asked all the questions he needed to. I cried whilst I told my grandma and made her promise me that she would stay strong for my mum like I am trying so hard to do. I was so proud that my grandma barely cried a tear, despite how upset she is, just for my mum. My mum needs me now more than she has ever needed me before. I never in 3 million years thought this was ever going to happen with my family but it has and I just don't know what to do now. Because of this there is no longer going to be adoption which has devastated us all but it would be completely unfair to bring a child into a situation like this nor would social services even let it happen. I am sorry to anyone who was following for the adoption stuff.

In all honesty I know in the long run we will all be completely fine but for now I guess we are all adjusting to the initial shock and change. I'm not sure how many blog posts will be up this week because I'm not feeling motivated to blog but I guess it will help distract me a little. I don't want anyone to think I am attention seeking, I just really needed to get this all out somewhere where I'm not looking at a crying face. If you aren't interested in this then sorry!
